Join the ranger and the team from the University of Salford for two days of Bioblitzing. A Bioblitz is a survey
of wildlife within an area which takes place over 24 hours. This event will include mammal and moth trapping,
a bat walk, a bird walk, river sweep netting, pond dipping, bug hunting and much more.

  • Saturday 28th of March schedule-

Mammal Trapping – 8 – 9am – We’ll be checking to see if we have caught any mammals, identifying them and releasing them back in the wild

Bird walk – 10 – 11am- Learn to identify some birds in the park and meadows by sight & sound

Spring wildlife identification and recording session with David Winnard – 11am until 1pm

River sweep netting with River Anglers Conservation Group, lets see what life can be found in the river Irwell

Bug hunting we’ll be looking for any insects we can find  

Pond exploring -1pm – 2pm – Joe the ranger will be looking at what’s in our pond
